What Google Calendar Sync Does

Connecting Google Calendar lets BidScript keep your important bid dates — deadlines and other key dates — automatically up to date in your Google calendar, so you can see them alongside the rest of your schedule without checking BidScript separately.

Before You Start

You'll need:

  • A BidScript account with an active login.

  • A Google account (Google Workspace or personal Gmail) to connect.

  • Permission to connect apps to your Google account — or the ability to request approval from your Google Workspace admin, depending on how your organisation's account is configured.

How to Connect Your Google Calendar

  1. In BidScript, navigate to Settings → Integrations.

  2. Find Google Calendar in the list and click Connect.

  3. You'll be redirected to Google to sign in with your Google account (if you're not already signed in).

  4. Review the permissions Google asks you to grant, then click Allow.

  5. You'll be redirected back to BidScript, where you'll see Google Calendar marked as Connected.

If You're Asked for Admin Permission

Some organisations restrict which third-party apps can be connected to Google Workspace. If you see a message saying the app is blocked or needs admin approval:

  • Your request will typically need to be approved by your Google Workspace admin before you can continue.

  • Once your admin approves BidScript, return to Settings → Integrations in BidScript and click Connect again to complete the process.

  • If you're not sure who your Google Workspace admin is, or the request doesn't go through, reach out to us and we can help.

What Happens After You Connect

Once Google Calendar is connected, calendar sync becomes available in your notification settings:

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications.

  2. Under Calendar Sync, turn on the dates you'd like to see in Google Calendar — bid deadlines and key dates.

From then on:

  • Your selected dates appear as events in your Google calendar, alongside your other meetings and appointments.

  • If a date changes in BidScript — for example, a deadline moves — your Google calendar updates automatically. You don't need to do anything.

  • This sync is personal to you — it only affects your own Google calendar, based on your own notification preferences.

Disconnecting Google Calendar

You can disconnect at any time:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations.

  2. Find Google Calendar and click Disconnect.

Disconnecting stops future calendar updates and removes the sync — it doesn't delete anything in BidScript. Events already sent to your Google calendar will need to be removed manually from Google Calendar if you no longer want them there.

Quick FAQ

Do I need to be a BidScript admin to connect my own Google Calendar?
No - any team member can connect their own Google account for their own calendar sync.

Will this add every BidScript date to my calendar?
No - you choose which types of dates sync (bid deadlines, key dates) from Settings → Notifications.

Does this work the other way — can I create BidScript dates from Google Calendar?
No, sync is one-way: BidScript sends dates to Google Calendar, not the reverse.

What if my organisation blocks the connection?
You'll see an admin approval message - see the "If You're Asked for Admin Permission" section above.

Can I use Outlook instead?
Yes - BidScript also supports connecting a Microsoft Outlook calendar from Settings → Integrations.
