References show you where BidScript's suggested wording came from. They link passages in your answer back to the underlying source material - tender documents, Bid Library documents, or the Q&A Store - so you can verify a claim before it goes into a submission.
This matters most for anything you would have to stand behind: accreditations, policy commitments, figures and dates.
Where references appear
Inline citations appear within the editor as highlighted citation tags in the body of your answer.
The reference preview opens when you select a citation, showing the source text it came from.
Check a reference
Open a question in the Answer Workspace.
Click an inline citation in the draft.
Read the reference preview and confirm the wording matches the source.
You can keep the reference preview open while you work, so you can cross-check facts and wording without reopening it for every citation.
References during generation
While BidScript is actively generating content, reference panels and previews may be hidden to keep the editor stable. They become available again as soon as generation finishes.
If references are missing
No references at all | Check that the project's documents have finished indexing. Until indexing completes, there is no source material to cite. |
An empty reference preview | Select a different reference, or close and reopen the question. |
