Once your pipeline exists, you manage it from the Pipeline tab in either of two views. Both show the same tasks - the difference is what they make easy.
Gantt chart | The default view. Tasks and phases laid out in date order, so you can see sequence, duration and overlap. A vertical line always marks today's date against the schedule. |
Kanban board | Tasks as cards grouped into progress columns, so you can see status at a glance and move work between stages. |
Switch to the board by turning on the Board toggle.
Task statuses and priorities
In Kanban view, tasks are grouped into four columns:
To Do
In Progress
Done
Blocked
Each task also carries a priority: Low, Medium, High or Critical.
These are the same statuses and priorities used across every project in the Tasks aggregate view. See Tasks Aggregate View.
Create a task manually
You can add tasks by hand in either view. The fields are the same; only the starting point differs.
In Gantt view: scroll to the bottom of the task list and click Add Task.
In Kanban view: click the + icon in the top-right corner of the relevant column.Enter the Task Name.
Set the date range using the Start Date and End Date fields.
Select Related Questions if relevant. This is optional.
Choose a Colour for the task.
Click + Add Task.
In Gantt view the task appears in the chart at its date range. In Kanban view it appears in the column you added it to.
You can also add tasks by asking BidBot. See Building your project pipeline.
Edit a task
Click the task you want to change.
Click the edit icon in the top-right corner of the task card that appears.
Change any of the fields below.
Click Save.
Description | What the task involves. |
Status | To Do, In Progress, Done or Blocked. |
Priority | Low, Medium, High or Critical. |
Start Date and End Date | The task's date range. |
Assignees | The colleagues responsible for the task. |
Labels | Your own categorisation. |
Task Colour | How the task appears in the Gantt chart. |
Related Questions | Questions attached to the task as subtasks. |
Adjust a duration by dragging
In Gantt view, drag a task bar to change its duration directly, rather than editing its dates.
Add questions as subtasks
You can attach questions to an existing task as subtasks. This is particularly useful for drafting and review phases, where a single task covers work on a group of questions.
Click the task you want to add questions to.
Go to Add questions.
Select the questions you want as subtasks.
Click Confirm.
This works the same way in both Gantt and Kanban views.
Attaching a question to a task does not assign anyone to it. To bring SMEs or colleagues onto specific questions, assign them as editors or reviewers in the project's Questions area. See Managing the question table.
