Improving answers with feedback

Open a scored answer alongside its client feedback and rework it, so a stronger version goes into your Q&A Store for reuse on future bids.

Once feedback has been assigned to your questions, you can open any answer alongside the feedback it received and rework it.

This is worth doing even on a bid you lost. The improved answer goes into your Q&A Store, so the next bid starts from a version that has already been tested against a real evaluator's comments — rather than the version that scored poorly.

Before you start

Feedback must already be assigned to the question you want to improve. See Adding client feedback.

Open the answer

  1. Open the project and go to the Outcome tab.

  2. On the Question feedback sub-tab, select the question you want to improve.

  3. Click Open question answer.

The Answer Workspace opens with the full answer alongside its feedback, so you can work on the text with the evaluator's comments in view.

Rework the answer

From here you have the full Answer Workspace available. The tools most useful at this stage:

Inline editing

Highlight the passage the feedback criticised and ask BidBot to revise just that part, rather than regenerating the whole answer.

Evaluation

Ask BidBot to assess the reworked answer against the criteria, so you can check the weakness has actually closed.

Version control

The original scored answer is preserved in version history, so you can always see what changed between the submitted version and the improved one.

Work from the feedback rather than from a general sense that the answer could be better. Feedback tells you what an evaluator actually penalised, which is more reliable than your own reread.

Store the improved answer

Once the answer is stronger, add it to the Q&A Store so future bids can draw on it.

Adding it from the Question feedback tab using Add to QA store stores the question, the answer and the outcome feedback together — so BidBot knows not just what you wrote, but how it was received. See Outcome Area: Overview.
