Creating and managing projects

Create a project manually or by importing from your CRM, then rename, search for and delete projects as your pipeline changes.

Every bid in BidScript starts as a project. The project is the self-contained environment holding that opportunity's tender documents, extracted questions and answers, tasks and pipeline, dashboards, assigned people and deadlines.

Creating a project is a prerequisite for everything else - tender uploads, opportunity analysis and pipeline generation all happen inside one.

Where to find your projects

In the left-hand sidebar, under Workspace, click Projects.

For how the Projects area is organised and what the aggregate views do, see Projects: Overview.

Create a project

  1. In the Projects area, click New Project in the top-right of the screen.

  2. Choose whether to import the project from Salesforce or HubSpot, or create it manually.

If you are importing from a CRM, see Salesforce or HubSpot for the import process.

To create one manually, continue:

  1. Enter the Client Name.

  2. Enter the Project Name.

  3. Choose the Default Workflow.

  4. Set the Roles — Lead, Assignees and Reviewers.

  5. Click Create Project.

BidScript creates an Opportunity Card for the project, which becomes the container for all subsequent activity on that bid.

Setting roles at this point saves work later: assignment options throughout the project are drawn from the project team, so a project created without them means missing names in every assignment dropdown.

What happens after you create a project

The new project appears as an opportunity card in the Projects area.

Click the card to open the Project Dashboard — the home screen for that bid, and the starting point for uploading documents, extracting questions and building the pipeline. See Project Dashboard.

Rename a project

  1. Find the project's opportunity card.

  2. Click the icon in the card's top-right corner, then select Edit.

  3. Update the Client Name or Project Name.

  4. Click Update Project.

The new name applies everywhere the project appears — the dashboard, Files, Pipeline and Workspace views all update automatically.

Search for a project

Use the search bar at the top of the Projects area. Results update as you type.

Search covers Client Name and Project Name.

Delete a project

Deleting a project permanently removes it, its documents, all extracted data and every associated task. This cannot be undone.

If you simply want a finished bid out of your active workspace, archive it instead — archiving preserves everything and can be reversed. See Archiving and restoring projects.

To delete:

  1. Find the project's opportunity card.

  2. Click the icon in the card's top-right corner, then click the bin icon.

  3. Type the project's exact name in the confirmation field.

  4. Click Confirm Delete.

Export or back up anything you need before deleting.
