The question table is an aggregate view. Every question extracted from every document lands in it - ITT and quality questions, technical and social value questions, PQQ, SQ and PSQ questions, compliance questions and commercial questions, all in a single table.
On a large tender that can mean hundreds or thousands of rows, which makes bulk actions awkward: selecting the right questions out of one long list is slow and error-prone.
You can view the same questions narrowed down to a single document, or to a single section within a document. The table behaves exactly as it does at project level - it is simply isolated to the questions from that document or section.
Why work this way
Narrowing the view makes bulk actions straightforward.
Assigning work is the clearest example. From a section view you can select every question in that section at once and assign them all to the same group of people, rather than picking individual rows out of the full aggregate table.
You can also run storyboarding and generate-draft tasks from this view, against the questions in that section alone.
Where to find the document tags
Open your project and go to the Workspace tab.
At the top of the workspace, next to Questions, find the document tags.
There are three:
Response Documents
Appendices
Other Documents
Find your document
Click Response Documents. A list of the project's response documents appears.
BidScript automatically classifies any document containing questions as a Response Document, so in most cases your document will be here.
If it is not, look under Appendices or Other Documents, or view All Documents in the workspace.
Reclassify a document as a Response Document
If your document is filed elsewhere, move it:
Click the ⋯ icon on the far right of the document's row.
Hover over Change Category.
Click Response Documents.
The document moves under the Response Documents tag and can now be opened.
Open a document
Click the document's row to open it. What you see depends on the file type:
Excel | The sheets laid out along the top. |
Word or PDF | The sections laid out down the side. |
Click any sheet or section to see the questions that exist within it. The question table opens as normal, isolated to that section's questions.
Sections must be labelled Bid Response
You can only open a section that carries the Bid Response label.
A section may contain questions and still carry a different label — Commercial and Pricing, Evidence and Returnables, Evaluation Criteria, Review and Alignment, or
Process and Events. If so, relabel it first:
Click the ⋯ icon on the section's row.
Scroll down to Change Category.
Select Bid Response.
You can now click into the section and see exactly the questions extracted from it.
