What Outlook Calendar Sync Does
Connecting Microsoft Outlook lets BidScript keep your important bid dates -deadlines and other key dates - automatically up to date in your Outlook calendar, so you can see them alongside the rest of your schedule without checking BidScript separately.
Before You Start
You'll need:
A BidScript account with an active login.
A Microsoft Outlook / Microsoft 365 account to connect.
Permission to connect apps to your Microsoft account — or the ability to request approval from your Microsoft 365 admin, depending on how your organisation's tenant is configured.
How to Connect Your Outlook Calendar
In BidScript, navigate to Settings → Integrations.
Find Microsoft Outlook in the list and click Connect.
You'll be redirected to Microsoft to sign in with your Outlook account (if you're not already signed in).
Review the permissions Microsoft asks you to grant, then click Accept.
You'll be redirected back to BidScript, where you'll see Outlook marked as Connected.
If You're Asked for Admin Permission
Some organisations restrict which apps can be connected to Microsoft 365. If you see a message saying admin approval is required:
Your request will typically be sent straight to your IT or Microsoft 365 admin for approval.
Once your admin approves the request, return to Settings → Integrations in BidScript and click Connect again to complete the process.
If you're not sure who your Microsoft 365 admin is, or the request doesn't go through, reach out to us and we can help.
What Happens After You Connect
Once Outlook is connected, calendar sync becomes available in your notification settings:
Go to Settings → Notifications.
Under Calendar Sync, turn on the dates you'd like to see in Outlook — bid deadlines and key dates.
From then on:
Your selected dates appear as events in your Outlook calendar, alongside your other meetings and appointments.
If a date changes in BidScript — for example, a deadline moves — your Outlook calendar updates automatically. You don't need to do anything.
This sync is personal to you — it only affects your own Outlook calendar, based on your own notification preferences.
Disconnecting Outlook
You can disconnect at any time:
Go to Settings → Integrations.
Find Microsoft Outlook and click Disconnect.
Disconnecting stops future calendar updates and removes the sync — it doesn't delete anything in BidScript. Events already sent to your Outlook calendar will need to be removed manually from Outlook if you no longer want them there.
Quick FAQ
Do I need to be a BidScript admin to connect my own Outlook calendar?
No - any team member can connect their own Outlook account for their own calendar sync.
Will this add every BidScript date to my calendar?
No - you choose which types of dates sync (bid deadlines, key dates) from Settings → Notifications.
Does this work the other way — can I create BidScript dates from Outlook?
No, sync is one-way: BidScript sends dates to Outlook, not the reverse.
What if my organisation blocks the connection?
You'll see an admin approval message — see the "If You're Asked for Admin Permission" section above.
Can I use Google Calendar instead?
Yes — BidScript also supports connecting a Google Calendar account from Settings → Integrations.
